Homeless Caucus

The homeless caucus convenes to strategically discuss and collaborate on services for the homeless population within our community.

This gathering provides a platform for stakeholders including Winston-Salem’s homeless residents, social workers, county and city government officials, and nonprofit organizations to listen and learn from each other. 

We’ll be sharing insights, resources, and best practices to identify solutions to the complex challenges faced by individuals experiencing short- and long-term homelessness.

Sadly, many veterans facing homelessness are struggling with service-connected disabilities. One important form of support is VA disability compensation — and for those about to receive back pay, it can be a life-changing boost.

We recently created a calculator to help veterans estimate their correct VA rating, especially when dealing with combined ratings and the often confusing VA math. It also helps calculate the amount of back pay they may be eligible for.


What's important to us is providing resources and help for veterans and their families. We want to make sure vets have all the resources necessary to ensure they struggle with their health and finances as little as possible.
